A little about me, my name is Heather RJ Fletcher. I began my career in retail and jumped into the world of television, radio, and internet commercial production as a Line Producer. I worked for a significant agency until I brunt out. During a period of exploration, I found the world of product design, which combined all my experiences. As an art director, the continued study of consumer culture and innovation drives me to originate universal visual stories through design. My superpowers are creativity, leadership, and empathy.

My artistic roots began in northern Minnesota, where I spent much of my childhood. I grew up around makers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. The people around me taught me to make things from their tools and materials around the house. One snowy winter, I discovered a man named Bob Ross on PBS. I was mesmerized by his painting. The 3rd time, I saw the program, took my box of crayons and ream of paper, sat in front of the television, and "painted" along. It wasn't until college that I became serious about being an artist at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts.

In 2019, authored a book titled, Making Marbled Paper, which is available at your favorite book store.

I teach classes on marbling and other surface design techniques at Minnesota Center for Book ArtsTextile Center Minnesota, and around the world.
